Hi! My name is Ella Clarke and some of my favorite things include Color Street, clean sheets, lattes, The Golden Girls, and Lay’s classic potato chips. I firmly believe that I have the best pets in the world. My dog, Scout, and cat, Lucky, are the best sisters!
I grew up in Ohio (Who Dey!) but moved to North Carolina after getting married. The transition to Chatham County was hard for me, but I have fallen in love with it and can’t imagine living anywhere else in the world. I live in Pittsboro with my husband, two sons, cat and dog.

Previously, I taught 7th grade for Rowan-Salisbury Schools before transitioning to 7th grade at West Lee Middle School in Sanford. While at West Lee, I coached cheerleading, tutored and volunteered. After becoming a mom, I took a break from teaching full time, but continued my educational journey by teaching English to kids in China online through VIPKid, teaching Sunday School at my church, and working as an after school coordinator at United Taekwondo Academy. While my journey of teaching students in China has ended, I still teach Sunday School and work 3 days a week as an after school coordinator at UTA.
I’m excited to start this new year with your student. My goal as a teacher here is to give students opportunities to improve reading, writing, and thinking skills for the college level and chances to think about themselves and the world around them more deeply.
Let’s learn together.
