I am thrilled to enter my sixth year as Director of Advancement at Woods Charter School! The intelligence, creativity and commitment of our faculty are constant sources of inspiration for me and it is a great honor to lead the Foundation fundraising efforts to support them and our students.
I am a Tar Heel native, born and raised in Wilmington, and a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill. After graduation, I lived in Atlanta, then moved to Denver with my husband, until North Carolina called us home in 2008. We have two children, who are in 9th and 7th grades here at Woods.
Professionally, my background is rooted in advertising. I led strategic development and execution for brands such as the Atlanta Hawks, Crocs Footwear, Chipotle Mexican Grill and New Belgium Brewery. Those years were filled with many an NBA game, a closet full of colorful (some say ugly) rubber shoes and more meals of burritos and beer than recommended. When we returned to NC, I paused my full-time career, but was fortunate to find fantastically timed part-time roles; building a successful Stella & Dot jewelry business, expanding The Produce Box in the Triangle and marketing a women’s clothing brand, Amaya Textiles.
My interest in education bloomed when my children entered preschool and I was witness to the value of instilling a passion for learning. I have served on boards at the preschool and elementary level – spearheading fundraising and event planning at both. I love being a part of Woods and am looking forward to another successful year garnering support for our Annual Fund!
You can find me in the Front Office Monday through Thursday, please swing by anytime to say hello!
