Physical activity helps to keep the brain and body alive and well! It also teaches us how working with others can help us as a community.
Each class will have Physical Education 2x's a week with an additional 30-minute class called Walking Program.
My curriculum is designed to help students understand their bodies, their current capabilities, and the tremendous potential for growth they have in store: physically, mentally, socially, athletically, and beyond!
All students are encouraged to thrive in positive self-talk while encouraging their classmates that they can do anything they put their minds to. It is not "I cannot," but rather "What way is best for ME to get it done."
Our base guide follows the state standards for Physical Education per grade level:
Standard 1: Demonstrates competency in a variety of motor skills and movement patterns
Standard 2: Applies knowledge of concepts, principles, strategies, and tactics related to movement and performance
Standard 3: Demonstrates the knowledge and skills to achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical activity and fitness
Standard 4: Exhibits responsible personal and social behavior that respects self and others
Standard 5: Recognizes the value of physical activity for health, enjoyment, challenge, self-expression, and or/social interaction.
