AP Seminar will provide students an opportunity to develop proficiency in discourse and writing on interdisciplinary topics as an elective choice for students in 10-12th grade. The course will build skills transferrable to courses in both high school and college including the ability to analyze a variety of texts representing diverse perspectives on real-world topics. Students will develop and communicate arguments in writing and multimedia presentations. Individual work and teamwork are integral to success in the course.
While College Board structures the learning goals for the skills and proficiencies that students develop through the class, teachers design curriculum content. Each unit requires students to read, think, question, and articulate ideas, and both skills and content build on and extend the core ideas.
Please review the AP Seminar Course Overview from College Board for more details and the research-based foundation for the course.
