End of Year Tests (EOGs and EOCs)
All EOGs (3rd - 8th-grade math and ELA and 5th and 8th-grade science) and EOCs (NC math 1, NC math 3, biology, and English II) have been suspended for the 2019-2020 school year by the US Department of Education. The NC General Assembly has not made a decision yet.
Important Changes to the AP Exam Administration
For the 2019-20 exam administration only, students can take a 45-minute online exam at home. The exam content will focus on what most schools were able to complete by early March. Students will be able to take these streamlined exams on any device they have access to—computer, tablet, or smartphone. Taking a photo of handwritten work will also be an option.
There will be a different testing date/time for each AP subject. See the individual documents for specific test dates/times and the free-response question types. For AP exams with portfolios, the due date for the portfolios has been extended to May 26 at 11:59 PM.
Students now have access to free, live AP review lessons https://apcoronavirusupdates.collegeboard.org/students#free-ap-classes delivered by AP teachers from across the country. The lessons will focus on reviewing the skills and concepts from the first 75% of the course.
Colleges support this solution and are committed to ensuring that AP students receive the credit they've worked this year to earn. For decades, colleges have accepted a shortened AP Exam for college credit when groups of students have experienced emergencies.
