Hi my name is Trina Cole. I am originally from Texas. I have lived in North Carolina for almost fifteen years. I went to college at a small school outside of San Antonio. It was called Texas Lutheran College. It has grown a bit since I graduated in 1992. We used to refer to it as TLC but now it is TLU. I earned my undergraduate degree in elementary education with a emphasis on reading. I also received my early childhood endorsement. A few years after teaching I went back to school to get my graduate degree as a reading specialist. I graduated from the University of Houston at Victoria in 1996.
I taught in a small town south of Houston for twelve years. I then stayed home with my kids until they started school. This is my eleventh year at Woods. I knew this is where I wanted to teach as soon as my kids started going to school here. My oldest son Carson was one of the lucky kids to be picked in the lottery for the first year of kindergarten at Woods. Jason followed in his brother's footsteps and started kindergarten a few years later. I plan to be here as long as I am able to teach.
As for my family... I have been married to my husband, Bob, for 23 years. We have two boys. Carson is a junior at NC State and Jason is in 12th grade at Seaforth. We live in Briar Chapel. We are fortunate enough to live near Bob's parents and sister as well as my mother. We are lucky to spend holidays and special occasions with family. We got a new puppy last summer. Her name is Brooklyn. She is a cutie. We also have a cat named Pepper that will greet you at the door if you ring our doorbell!
