Hi! I’m Eryn Dillard and I am excited to be back at Woods for another great year in second grade. Here are a few quick facts about me: I grew up in beautiful eastern Wisconsin, but most recently came to Chatham County from Iowa City, Iowa - home of the University of Iowa (Go Hawkeyes!). This is where I earned my BA in Elementary Education as well as received my endorsement in Special Education. This is my seventh year teaching second graders! My husband began his program at UNC in 2018 which is what brought us to the Chapel Hill area. So far, we have loved exploring North Carolina and adding our pups Clover and Hazel to the family! When I am not at school you can probably find me outside or in my kitchen. I love spending time being active and enjoying/exploring the natural world or cooking up a new recipe. I am currently working towards getting my NC Environmental Education certificate.
I believe education should be rooted in strong relationships and community. It is important to me to foster an environment that is safe and fun, yet challenges students. I love coming alongside and watching them discover their own unique voice, engage with learning, and grow their confidence. I am passionate about helping students find the joy in learning and experience success as they build lifelong skills.
