My name is Amber Bates and I am excited to return to Woods as a teacher! I graduated from Woods in 2012, and from there I went to Elon University where I majored in Special and Elementary Education. After graduating from college in 2016, I spent my first year teaching Kindergarten at Ephesus Elementary School.
This year, I am looking forward to entering my seventh year as an elementary Exceptional Children's teacher at Woods. My goals for this year are to help my students reach their highest potential and to create a classroom environment where every student feels welcome.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading, writing, and traveling. Out of the places I have been, Krakow, Poland has been my favorite, and I am hoping to return and explore the rest of Europe, and the world, in the future.
I am excited to see what the 2034-2024 school year will bring!
