I am Ms. TL, and I teach Theatre Arts for K-2, Middle School, and High School. I am also the advisor for the H.S. Theatre Club.
I believe in the power of Theatre. Theatre--at its best--creates a safe, supportive space where students can take risks, collaborate with classmates, and gain a better understanding of their emotions, bodies, and minds! I am constantly in wonder of the creativity and drive of our students, and they keep me on my toes with their ideas, dreams, and goals. They make me hopeful for the future of Theatre.
I have worked as an actor, director, devisor, and facilitator for over ten years, and I have been teaching for seven years now! I am trained in numerous theatrical practices including the Stanislavski method, Viewpoints, Tectonic Theater's devising methods and the performance pedagogy of Jacques Lecoq. I hold an M.F.A. in Theatre Arts from Towson University and a B.A. in Theatre/English from Warren Wilson College.
Fun facts: I am a graduate from Woods Charter ('06!) and a Pittsboro native (Go Pandas! Go Wildcats!). I have a bunny named Trilby, I play the spoons and baritone ukulele, Theatre is my passion.
