Hi from Room 162, the Art room for grades K-4!
I am pleased to be back at Woods for my 16th year as Elementary Art teacher. We've come a long way from Cole Park to Woodland Grove Lane, but our goal is the same. I strive to inspire a love of the visual arts in our children and literacy in that non verbal language whose elements are Line, Shape, Form, Space, Texture, Value, Color, and Meatballs. OK, maybe not meatballs. Just checking to see if you were reading carefully. And besides, maybe you're vegetarian.
Throughout the year we'll tie our art activities to subjects being taught back in the regular classroom, reinforcing those cross curricular connections with project based learning. You are always welcome to stop by and see what's going on.
In the spring of each year we usually show off our accomplishments at Art in the Woods, the student art show where everyone is represented. We've taken a hiatus due to COVID-19, but five years ago our beautiful annual publication In a Nutshell made its debut and will come out once again this May. I'm looking forward to our sweet sixteenth year!
