Hi! I am Ms. Collins. I am excited to be entering my sixth year of teaching third grade at Woods. It is going to be a great year and I hope all of the awesome third graders are ready for a fun year as well!
I have lived in Pittsboro for the past 16 years, moving here from Cary. I have an amazing husband, Britt, and two spunky daughters. Peyton is a seventh grader and Lyla is a fifth grader, both here at Woods. While I started teaching at Woods in 2014, my family has been a part of the Woods community since 2012. The relationships created with colleagues, other families, and most importantly students, is something I cherish.
I received my BA in Communication from NC State and worked in public relations and sports marketing before I started my family. While raising my daughters, I received my Masters of Art in Teaching (MAT).
I also am a co-leader of the Running With the Wolves team. Our runners are the very best!!
Third graders receive homework each night. It is typically math, spelling, and nightly reading. I never expect homework to exceed 30 minutes, not including reading time.
I am excited to see what this school year will bring us!
Go Wolves!!
