YMCA Afterschool Program
Chatham YMCA School-Age Afterschool Program is designed to offer students many opportunities for intellectual, physical and social development. Children take part in a wide variety of group and individual activities, including homework time, arts and crafts and organized games. We offer a quality program that includes planned activities to complement the school experience.
Children are offered many choices of activities at Woods Charter. Each day, students are welcomed by enthusiatic and caring staff that are there to mold the YMCA program around the interests of the students. Games include soccer, basketball, archery, ladder ball, speed cup stacking to name a few. The YMCA staff also help the students learn and implement the YMCA core values of Honesty, Caring, Repect and Responsibility. In addition to the games, core values, and variety of activities the YMCA staff also focus on homework each day. Homework is extremely important to the YMCA staff. They work closely with parents and teachers to assist where needed. The best part is that our curriculum produces results with happy kids, who have the opportunity to extend their day in a safe, caring, exciting and nurturing environment. Our program operates on site every day that school is in session. If school is closed due to inclement weather, the YMCA before and afterschool program is also closed.
This program provides convenience for working parents by running Monday-Friday from 2:45-6:00 PM. The Chatham YMCA also offers before care Monday - Friday
