Woods PTSA earns money each year to support various programs and learning opportunities for students and teachers at Woods Charter School. The money earned through the Grocery Card program and other shopping programs allows us to raise funds without having to hold other smaller fundraising sales during the school year (do you really want to sell wrapping paper?!). In 2011 we earned just over $17,000 through shopping programs - This is the single biggest fundraiser for the school!
If each Woods Family (average 300 families) bought just $100 worth of groceries from participating stores each month using pre-purchased grocery cards we would earn between at least $15,000 and as much as $30,000 for Woods during the 10-month school year! NEW for 2012! Monthly "Scrip" Gift Card On-Line Ordering! How often do you go out to eat? Go to the movies? Buy clothes or household items? Buy gifts? Did you know that with a little pre-planning you can order gift cards for your favorite shops or restaurants and use them just like cash. When you do, Woods earns a percentage for each gift card sold. Once you have set up your secure on-line account, you can order and pay on-line (through an on-line check). Cards will be delivered monthly to the school. There are over 500 different gift cards available! Some cards can be used instantly on-line, sent on-line as gifts, or even reloaded. Monthly Grocery & Gas Cards: Each month we place an order for prepaid Grocery & Gas cards from Whole Foods, Lowes Foods , Food Lion and BP Gas. You can sign up for the monthly program by completing the on-line form. You will get the full-value paid for your cards (you buy $200 worth of cards, you get $200 worth of groceries or gas) and the school earns money because the stores allow us to buy the cards at a discount. The school earns between 6-10% from Lowes Foods and 5% from Whole Foods and Food Lion. In 2012 we are introducing the ability to purchase BP Gas Cards (earn 10%).
Kroger: Kroger provides 5% cash back to the school for all purchases made with a specially linked Kroger Cares card. Once you have the card, you simply re-load credit on the card at the customer service desk or at the register (before your order is rung). To get a card, complete the on-line form or email grocerycards@woodscharter.org. The initial card is $5 and will have $5 of credit loaded on it when you receive it. If you are a Kroger shopper you can also link your regular Kroger Plus card to our account on e-labels. Link on-line and each time you buy participating products we'll earn credits for our account (this is similar to collecting soup label in the past).

Weaver Street /Panzanella will donate 5% of your purchases to WCS through their "School Scrip" program. You will need to go to the Customer Service Desk and get a School Scrip Card and assign it to our school number (#118). The card is refillable and reusable - if you already have a card, you can link it to our number right at the register.
Harris Teeter - Together In Education Program (TIE): What could be easier? Each school year you simply TIE your existing VIC card to Woods Charter (#4239)... and Bingo... WCS gets 2% of your purchases of Harris Teeter Brand products through May 31. You can link your card at the Customer Service Desk, the register (with #4239) or link your card on-line here. You must RE-LINK your card every year in August!
Food Lion Classroom Rewards: Wow - not only can you help WCS earn money by buying and shopping with Food Lion Grocery Cards - but you can also link your MVP card for MORE donations! When you buy Food Lion brand products and link your MVP card Food Lion will donate a percentage back to Woods...and each time you do, you'll be entered to win $250 in free groceries - HOW COOL IS THAT?! Target - Take Charge of Education Program: WCS Shoppers can link their Target Card to Woods Account (#121643) ... It's easy. Just go on-line, or call 1-800-316-6142 to designate our school. So if you're going to Target anyway, please consider using your Target® Visa® or Target® Card. Note that Target Visa cards can be used ANYWHERE and earn dollars for Woods!
