Regional Spelling Bee

Emma Lanford (fourth grader) made it to round 4 in the regional spelling bee on Saturday, March 6, at Duke University. She was in the top 17 out of 54 students, most of whom were 8th graders. Some of the words she had to spell were loam, succotash, and implement. The winner was an 8th grader from another charter school. We are very proud of Emma for representing Woods so well, and we look forward to next year's bee in elementary and middle school. Thanks to Heather Gallagher for organizing our local bee.
