Parent Testimonials
"Woods Charter School has been a wonderful experience for our family. I have boys here this year Elementary School. In their classrooms, they have developed strong bonds with their teachers and with their classmates. The level of individual attention and support they get at Woods helps them feel comfortable and confident in school and the Core Knowledge curriculum provides their teachers a framework for exploring topics they find fascinating. They have learned to play chess and guitar in the afterschool programs run by volunteers.
Being a Woods parent is different too, with so many opportunities to make a positive difference and to be heard when I have concerns. This is an exciting and dynamic school, and we feel grateful to be a part of it." A Woods Parent
"We are a new family at Woods Charter School with children in third and fifth grade. We came to Woods so that our children could benefit from the small class size and because we liked the overall intimate size of the school. Everything fell into place for us around the time of the first teacher conferences. We were so impressed by the fact that every teacher we met with had a genuine caring relationship with our children and knew little details about their personalities. The teachers took an interest in making sure our kids were "fitting in" to their new environment and making good friends. It gave us a warm feeling knowing that the teachers took the time to get to know the kids and understand even small details about them.
The administration is approachable, attentive, and helpful. The principal is available to the kids and parents and greets the parents and kids when they arrive for the school day. I really like this touch.
At Woods, everyone seems to know everyone else and the place has a family oriented feeling. The three divisions mix well and the high school kids have an opportunity to share their knowledge and expertise with the younger kids who benefit from these interactions with older role models. We are very happy with our first year at Woods." A Woods Parent
"My daughter started in the high school division during the 2008-2009 school year. She has never had a more positive school experience than she has had at Woods. We were both impressed with the teaching and administrative staff. The personal attention was above and beyond all expectation and we feel so fortunate to be a part of the Woods family!" "My daughter was doing fine at the school she was going to, but during her first year at Woods she absolutely blossomed into a confident, capable, and joyful student! Due to the individual attention that students receive, the small classroom size, and the relevant content being taught, my daughter is inspired and has become an active participant in her education."
