Hello! My name is Eryn Dillard, and I am so excited to join the Woods team this year. Here are few things about me: I grew up in the beautiful bluffs of La Crosse, Wisconsin, but have spent the last 8 years living in Iowa City, home of the University of Iowa (Go Hawkeyes!). This is where I earned my BA in Elementary Education. I also received my endorsement in Special Education and a Spanish Minor. My husband, Jake, just began his program at UNC which is what brought us to the Chapel Hill area! We are very excited to begin exploring North Carolina! Before getting here we spent the summer taking Spanish classes and traveling in Peru. I love being a life-long learner and continue to seek out opportunities to grow both personally and professionally! When I am not at school you can probably find me outside or in my kitchen! I love spending time being active and enjoying the natural world or cooking up a new recipe! Although I am new to Woods Charter School, this is my fourth year teaching second graders.
I believe education should be rooted in strong relationships and community. It is important to me to foster an environment that is safe and fun, yet challenging for students. I love coming alongside and watching them discover their own voice, engage with learning, and grow their confidence! I am wildly passionate about doing everything I can to help students experience success!
