I am a lifelong learner of all things.  Not knowing all there is to know, excites and humbles me at the same time.  It reminds me of the quote by John Cotton Dana:  "Who dares to teach, must never cease to learn."

Choosing a career in education was one of the best decisions I have ever made.  I earned a degree in Social Science Education from Elon University.  My journey began as a history teacher at Western Alamance High School.  The path twisted a bit when I made the decision to temporarily exit the classroom, and get involved with education through the lives of my children as a parent volunteer for their school as a reading tutor.  I began to miss the classroom more and more as my children got older.  In 2013, I accepted a teaching position at Horton Middle in Pittsboro, NC.  It was then that I decided that the middle grades were a good fit for me.

The path to Woods intersected my life when my own kids were accepted into the school.  I have witnessed first-hand the rich education they have received at Woods and knew I wanted to be a part of that culture.  It is wonderful to be included in a community that values creativity and individuality.
