To be teaching at Woods Charter School is an honor & privilege and I am thrilled to be here. Traditionally, children follow their parents’ lead but in my case the opposite is true. In 2007, the day before school started, I received the call that there was an opening for my oldest daughter, Megan. She has always done well in school, but during her first year at Woods she absolutely blossomed! She grew into a confident student who truly loved school and valued learning. I knew something magical was happening at Woods and I longed to be there. Luckily the following year Woods expanded and my youngest daughter, Kaylee, and I were welcomed into the Woods' community. I’ve taught second, third, and fourth grades but have found my niche as a teacher of fifth graders. I am lucky to have a front row seat as children make the transition from the elementary world into the middle school world. 

 

 My goals as a teacher are:

·         for students to feel safe, respected, and cared about.

·         to support students as they navigate through middle school.

·         for students to realize that they are capable of exceeding all expectations.

·         to instill within students a love of reading and a love of learning.
