Kindergarten Supplies – Updated for the 2011-12 year (updated on 7/27/2011)
- A standard size backpack without wheels (please do not get the small, child-size designed for preschoolers)
- 1 towel for your child to lie on during rest (no mats or quilts, please)
- An extra change of clothes, including socks and underwear in a ziplock bag, labeled with name
- 1 box of 8 TWISTABLE Crayola crayons
- 1 package of 8 fat Crayola markers
- 1 package of colored pencils
- 4 Exp dry erase markers
- 2 highlighters- any color
- 1 watercolor set of 8 colors
- 1 composition book (100 sheets) NOT spiral bound
- 3 glue sticks
- 1 medium bottle of Elmers school glue
- 1 package of copy paper (white)
- Water color paper tablet
- $130 to cover materials for math, phonics, handwriting, and French . This also covers things that we asked parents to send in previous years, like paper towels, individual pencil sharpeners, individual head phones for the listening center, hand sanitizer, ziplock bags, homework folders, tissues- that we are not asking you to send in this year. We found that we could get much better prices if we bought in bulk, and the storage was much easier if the containers were the same shape and size! We are aware that this may come as a surprise to you, and these times are challenging for many people. If this creates difficulty for your family, please let us know and we will work with you.
- Suggested: Core Knowledge series "What Your Kindergartner Needs to Know" can be purchased online or at most bookstores for about $13 and kept at home for your reference.
- Tennis shoes for PE need to be worn on the scheduled PE days (these will not be kept at school.)
- Rain coat and boots for puddle splashing. (Recommended)
