First Grade Supply List -updated 7/21/2011

Welcome back!! We are really excited about the new school year. Here are the items we will need to start the year off!

Math and Reading Comprehension Books/Magazines/French Workbook $105 payable to WCS, Memo: first grade fund.

 

Community Supplies: The following supplies will be collected during the first week of school and will be used throughout the year by the entire class (please do NOT label these items).

·         #2 pencils - packs of 24 

·         1 large eraser (not pencil top)

·         1 package of Crayola Twistable Crayons

·         1 package of Crayola markers

·         1 package of Crayola colored pencils

·         1 packages of pencil top erasers

·         4 glue sticks

·         1 glue bottle

·         4 Expo markers (any color)

·         1 package of  loose-leaf paper (girls only)

·         1 package of white computer paper

·         1 package of Sharpies (any color)

·         Play dough or clay (any color)

·         2 rolls of paper towels

·         1 box of tissues

·         1 package of 11x14 construction paper (preferably loose leaf)

·         1 package of pipe cleaners (any color) (boys only)

·         4 containers of Clorox/Lysol wipes

·         1 big pack of post-it notes (any color)

·         1-2 highlighters (any color)

·         1 pair of scissors

·         1 container of hand sanitizer or hand soap

 
 

Individual Supplies: These items are for each student's individual use so please label each item with your child's name (with a Sharpie).

• 2 plastic pocket folders (make sure they are big enough & sturdy enough to hold packets of papers)

• 2 composition notebooks (not spiral & not where you can tear out pages)

• 1 palette of watercolors with a brush

 

Optional Supplies: Computer paper (white or colored), feathers, beads, pom-poms, index cards, craft sticks, shells, Styrofoam ball, yarn or other art supplies.


Each family is encouraged to purchase "What Every First Grader Needs to Know" by Ed Hirsch
