Extra Credit Policy: Middle School French
(Madame Little)
Extra credit is automatically earned by bringing in any of the following:
- News article (printed) about a francophone person or place
- Ad (printed) using French words and/or referring to a francophone person or place
- Ticket or program from a show, concert, exhibit, etc. related to French language and/or culture
- French related items from a travel experience
Note: One point for bringing the item to display in class. Two or more points for also showing and explaining to class.
Eligibility for extra credit beyond the listing above: you must already be in good standing ("C/3" average or better). If you are not operating on that level, your time and effort should be focused on regularly assigned class work and expectations rather than taking on additional work.
Extra credit projects must be proposed and arranged in advance. Here's the process:
1. Let me know what your idea is. Tell me in person, phone me (960-8353 ext. 230 ~ it's fine to leave a voice message), or else write me a note (or email).
2. You and I will discuss your idea to reach an agreement on what you will do, when, how many points it will be worth, and criteria for evaluation.
3. There are many possibilities. Among them: hand in a report or something else in writing; tell me and/or show me what you have found or done or learned; present your material to the class. In general, presenting to the class will mean more points, but it's not required.
